MBA (Engineering Management) in UniMAP

UniMAP has taken the initiative to introduce a unique by offering the first MBA in Malaysia that focuses on engineering management. The classes are conducted by School of Business Innovation and Technopreneurship of Universiti Malaysia Perlis. They offer part time and fulltime course. For part-time students, most class at Kulim and for full-timer like myself, we have in Kangar, Perlis.

The first batch started back in January 2011 and I am among the first intake students (a.k.a. guinea pig). This MBA programme in Engineering Management is specially designed for engineering graduates but UniMAP also open it to the graduates of other disciplines. It given the opportunity for engineering background personnel maybe engineers like me or managers to excel towards top management position. I am doing because I believe that to be a great manager in nowadays, required to have higher education so, more competent in meeting future challenges. The fee, I can say, it’s affordable but if need more details, contact UniMAP. Durations, of course depending on you, part-time is limit to 10 semesters (5 years) while full-time up to 6 semesters (3 years).

Entry requirements

· A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields with a CGPA of at least 2.5 from universities recognized by the government AND approved by Senate OR

· A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields with a CGPA of at least 2.0 from universities recognized by the government AND has at least 2 years working experience in related field AND approved by Senate and

· For foreign candidates only, must achieve a satisfactory level of English proficiency, with a score of 550 for TOEFL or 6.0 for IELTS or equivalent AND approved by Senate.

For local, UniMAP asked for MUET but I have no English test (not even MUET) since I am from Asasi UM, yet they approved my application. So I think the English for local is not so compulsory.
